Situated in the center of the city block, the William G. Thompson Gardens are a nature lover’s paradise. Established by Sophia Thompson in the 1890’s, the gardens have undergone few changes over the years. Enjoy the formal privet hedge which boxes in the formal garden beds, established by William R. Thompson in the 1930’s. Rest under the shade of the massive copper beech tree. Wander through Sophia’s rose garden. Visitors in the winter are treated to the snowy landscape views from the house. Spring time is bulb time. Summer brings the roses, while fall showcases the brilliant leaves. |
