2nd Annual William G. Thompson Memorial Flower Show

Test your gardening skills at the 2nd annual William G. Thompson Memorial Flower Show. The show will be held on August 2, 2008 at the Museum (101 Summit Street in Hudson). This is the same day as the Hudson City-Wide Garage Sale event, and last year nearly 700 visitors stopped by the Thompson Museum during the festivities.
We are seeking entrants in the following categories:
Annuals: Plants that complete their life cycle in one Michigan growing season, displayed as a rooted plant in a container.
Perennials: Plants with life cycles over many seasons of Michigan weather, displayed rooted in a container
Flower Arrangements: Fresh or dried flowers must make up 80% of the arrangement, which can be wreaths, cut in vase (or other container), or other displays.
Vegetables: Displayed as harvested produce. May be single specimen or grouped on plate.
Nature Photography: Images of flowers, trees, landscapes, gardens, ect. Images must be either mounted or matted and under 20 inches square (overall dimensions)
Youth Division: Open class (any of above categories), applicant must be under 16 years of age
All entries must list product (name of plant or image) and name and phone on separate card.
Prizes awarded for each category and “Best of Show”
Entry Fees: Early Registration Late Registration Before July 26, 2008 After July 26, 2008
$5.00 first entry $7.50 each entry $2.50 each additional
All proceeds used to assist in the restoration of the Thompson Museum Gardens!
Show Schedule:
Set up: Day of show from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (early set up by appointment ONLY)
Judging: 10:00 a.m.
Tear down: 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (all entries must be removed by 5:00 p.m.)
Public viewing begins after judging is complete until close of show (4:00 p.m.)
